Choosing a battery for the Toyota NAV1
The NAV1 ran from 2012 to 2018. Later cars in that range often have start-stop and need maintenance-free flooded, while earlier ones use a standard battery, so the model year decides what we bring.
As an SUV it carries a larger battery than a small hatchback, and the AC and rear climate work hard in UAE traffic. We bring the full-capacity unit, not a smaller one that happens to fit the tray.
What a Toyota needs from its battery
Most Toyotas take JIS flooded batteries. Small cars such as the Yaris and Corolla usually use NS60, the Camry and RAV4 generally take 55D23L, and the Land Cruiser, Prado and Hilux use 80D26L or larger. Size varies by engine, so the label is checked.
Toyota hybrids have a small 12V auxiliary battery, often in the boot, and when it goes flat the car will not go to Ready even with a healthy hybrid pack. On the Land Cruiser, winches, fridges and extra lights are the usual reason a battery dies early.
Send a photo of the label on your current battery, or the registration card, and we will confirm the exact specification before the technician leaves.

We recommend by car and budget, and tell you plainly when a cheaper battery is the wrong choice for a start-stop engine.

Toyota NAV1 battery questions
What battery does the Toyota NAV1 use?
For the NAV1 we normally fit a maintenance-free flooded battery. Capacity and size vary with engine and year, so we check the label on the old battery or the VIN before bringing the replacement.
How long does a NAV1 battery last in the UAE?
In UAE heat a car battery typically lasts two to three years. Covered parking and a longer drive each week help it reach the upper end of that range.
Can you replace my NAV1 battery in a basement car park?
Yes. Our service vehicles fit standard basement height limits. Share the level and bay number and let security know a technician is coming.
Does the NAV1 need the battery registered after replacement?
This model does not normally need battery registration. The technician carries a diagnostic tool and checks for stored battery faults either way.
Battery trouble right now?
Send your location and car model. A technician is usually with you in 20 to 35 minutes.
No call-out surprises. You get the quote before we move.
