Choosing a battery for the Range Rover Velar
It takes an AGM battery. The capacity depends on the engine and model year, so we read it from your current battery or the VIN rather than guessing. Mild-hybrid engines add a 48V pack that works alongside the 12V battery.
Early signs are stop/start switching itself off and a "low battery, please start engine" message after short trips. We reset the battery monitoring system after fitting so those warnings clear properly.
What a Land Rover needs from its battery
Every Range Rover with start-stop needs an AGM battery, usually one of the larger DIN sizes. Older Land Rovers without start-stop run a conventional maintenance-free battery. Capacity differs by engine and year, so we confirm it from the label or the VIN before dispatch.
After a new battery goes in, the battery monitoring system should be reset so the car charges it correctly. Skipping that step is a common reason for a "low battery" message returning weeks later. Mild-hybrid models also carry a separate 48V pack, which we leave untouched.
