Amaron vs Solite

Amaron or Solite?

Amaron and Solite compete for the same Japanese and Korean cars and both are sealed maintenance-free batteries. Amaron has the hot-climate design story, Solite has the Korean factory link, and in daily use they perform much alike.

About Amaron

Amaron arrived in 2000 and became one of the best-selling battery brands in India within a few years. The batteries use silver-alloy grids, which the maker specifies for corrosion resistance at high temperature, and they are sold fully sealed. Most of what we stock is in Japanese JIS sizes, so the brand is seen mainly in Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi and similar cars. It is a flooded battery, well regarded in that class, and not something to put on a car that needs AGM.

Amaron in UAE heat

Amaron copes with heat well for a flooded battery, but 2 to 3 years is still the realistic figure here. Cars that sit unused for weeks will shorten that, so drive it or disconnect it during long trips abroad.

Best suited to

Japanese and Korean saloons, SUVs and pickups without stop/start, especially cars that cover long distances every day.

Amaron on a Range Rover

Not on a stop/start Range Rover, which needs an AGM battery. An Amaron can suit an older Land Rover without stop/start if the size and terminal layout match, and the technician will tell you straight if they do not.
