Choosing a battery for the Rover 25
The 25 was built from 1999 to 2005, before start-stop was common, so most examples run a conventional maintenance-free battery. Age matters more than mileage on these cars: cables, terminals and the alternator are worth checking at the same visit.
Compact cars use smaller batteries with less reserve, so short trips with the AC running drain them faster. The good news is that replacement is quick and the batteries are easy to stock.
What a Rover needs from its battery
Most modern British cars with stop/start take an AGM battery in a DIN size, usually H6, H7 or H8. Older models without stop/start often run a standard flooded battery. The technician confirms the exact size from the battery label or the VIN before dispatch.
