Choosing a battery for the Porsche 924
The 924 was built from 1976 to 1988, before start-stop was common, so most examples run a conventional maintenance-free battery. Age matters more than mileage on these cars: cables, terminals and the alternator are worth checking at the same visit.
As an SUV it carries a larger battery than a small hatchback, and the AC and rear climate work hard in UAE traffic. We bring the full-capacity unit, not a smaller one that happens to fit the tray.
What a Porsche needs from its battery
Most Porsches take an AGM battery in H7 or H8, with H6 on some sports models. A lightweight lithium battery was a factory option on certain cars and needs a like-for-like replacement. The VIN tells the technician which one was fitted.
On the 911, Boxster and Cayman the battery is in the front luggage compartment, and the lid release is electric. With a flat battery the lid stays shut until power is fed to the car, usually through a terminal in the fuse box. Older Cayennes keep the battery under a front seat.
Send a photo of the label on your current battery, or the registration card, and we will confirm the exact specification before the technician leaves.

Porsche 924 battery questions
What battery does the Porsche 924 use?
For the 924 we normally fit a maintenance-free flooded battery. Capacity and size vary with engine and year, so we check the label on the old battery or the VIN before bringing the replacement.
How long does a 924 battery last in the UAE?
In UAE heat a car battery typically lasts two to three years. Covered parking and a longer drive each week help it reach the upper end of that range.
Can you replace my 924 battery in a basement car park?
Yes. Our service vehicles fit standard basement height limits. Share the level and bay number and let security know a technician is coming.
Does the 924 need the battery registered after replacement?
This model does not normally need battery registration. The technician carries a diagnostic tool and checks for stored battery faults either way.
Battery trouble right now?
Send your location and car model. A technician is usually with you in 20 to 35 minutes.
No call-out surprises. You get the quote before we move.
