Choosing a battery for the Opel Astra OPC
The Astra OPC ran from 2011 to 2018. Later cars in that range often have start-stop and need AGM, while earlier ones use a standard battery, so the model year decides what we bring.
Compact cars use smaller batteries with less reserve, so short trips with the AC running drain them faster. The good news is that replacement is quick and the batteries are easy to stock.
What a Opel needs from its battery
Most recent German cars with stop/start take an AGM battery, and smaller models sometimes use EFB. Sizes are DIN, usually H6, H7 or H8 depending on engine and equipment. The label on the old battery or the VIN settles it.
