Choosing a battery for the Mercury Marquis
The Marquis was built from 1967 to 1986, before start-stop was common, so most examples run a conventional maintenance-free battery. Age matters more than mileage on these cars: cables, terminals and the alternator are worth checking at the same visit.
Saloons like this are daily commuters, and stop-and-go traffic on Sheikh Zayed Road with the AC on full is hard on a battery. A test every spring catches a weak one before it strands you.
What a Mercury needs from its battery
Older American models use BCI group sizes such as Group 65 or Group 78. Most newer ones have moved to DIN sizes like H6 and H7, with AGM on anything with stop/start. Cranking power matters more than usual on the V8s.
Some older GM models use side terminals with bolts, which need the right battery and not an adaptor. Several American saloons and SUVs also hide the battery in the boot or under a seat.
Send a photo of the label on your current battery, or the registration card, and we will confirm the exact specification before the technician leaves.

We recommend by car and budget, and tell you plainly when a cheaper battery is the wrong choice for a start-stop engine.

Mercury Marquis battery questions
What battery does the Mercury Marquis use?
For the Marquis we normally fit a maintenance-free flooded battery. Capacity and size vary with engine and year, so we check the label on the old battery or the VIN before bringing the replacement.
How long does a Marquis battery last in the UAE?
In UAE heat a car battery typically lasts two to three years. Covered parking and a longer drive each week help it reach the upper end of that range.
Can you replace my Marquis battery in a basement car park?
Yes. Our service vehicles fit standard basement height limits. Share the level and bay number and let security know a technician is coming.
Does the Marquis need the battery registered after replacement?
This model does not normally need battery registration. The technician carries a diagnostic tool and checks for stored battery faults either way.
Battery trouble right now?
Send your location and car model. A technician is usually with you in 20 to 35 minutes.
No call-out surprises. You get the quote before we move.
