What a McLaren needs from its battery
A McLaren in the UAE often spends more days parked than driven, and its alarm, tracker and control units keep drawing current the whole time. That slow drain kills more of these batteries than age does.
Battery type and size
Most cars in this class take a large AGM battery in a DIN size, usually H7 or H8. A few recent models leave the factory with a lightweight 12V lithium battery. Specifications vary a lot by model, so the VIN is checked before anything is sent out.
Worth knowing before fitting
The battery is rarely under the bonnet. It may be in the front luggage compartment, the boot or behind trim, and the lid release is often electric, so a flat battery can lock you out of the compartment that holds it. A battery conditioner is worth using on any car that sits for more than a week.
