Choosing a battery for the Jeep JT
The JT ran from 2019 to 2023. Later cars in that range often have start-stop and need AGM, while earlier ones use a standard battery, so the model year decides what we bring.
As an SUV it carries a larger battery than a small hatchback, and the AC and rear climate work hard in UAE traffic. We bring the full-capacity unit, not a smaller one that happens to fit the tray.
What a Jeep needs from its battery
Most recent Jeeps take an AGM battery in H6 or H7, and the Grand Cherokee can take H8. Older Wranglers generally use a BCI Group 34. The size depends on engine and year, so the label is checked.
Wranglers and Gladiators with engine stop-start have a small auxiliary battery beside the main one, and a fault in it can stop the car from starting even when the main battery is good. On the Grand Cherokee the battery is under the front passenger seat.

What battery does the Jeep JT use?
For the JT we normally fit a AGM battery. Capacity and size vary with engine and year, so we check the label on the old battery or the VIN before bringing the replacement.
How long does a JT battery last in the UAE?
In UAE heat a car battery typically lasts two to three years. Covered parking and a longer drive each week help it reach the upper end of that range.
Can you replace my JT battery in a basement car park?
Yes. Our service vehicles fit standard basement height limits. Share the level and bay number and let security know a technician is coming.
Does the JT need the battery registered after replacement?
This model does not normally need battery registration. The technician carries a diagnostic tool and checks for stored battery faults either way.
