Choosing a battery for the GAC GS8S

The GS8S has been on sale since 2020 and is a current model. Cars of this age carry a lot of electronics, and most need a EFB battery matched to the factory specification.

As an SUV it carries a larger battery than a small hatchback, and the AC and rear climate work hard in UAE traffic. We bring the full-capacity unit, not a smaller one that happens to fit the tray.

What a GAC needs from its battery

Most GAC models take a DIN battery, usually H5 or H6 on the GS3 and Empow and H6 or H7 on the GS8 and GN8. Stop/start versions generally use EFB or AGM. The label or VIN settles the size.

On the people carriers, a weak battery often shows first in the electric sliding doors, which slow down or stop halfway. That is a sign to test the battery before it leaves you stuck.
