Choosing a battery for the Foton V
The V has been on sale since 2018 and is a current model. Cars of this age carry a lot of electronics, and most need a EFB battery matched to the factory specification.
As an SUV it carries a larger battery than a small hatchback, and the AC and rear climate work hard in UAE traffic. We bring the full-capacity unit, not a smaller one that happens to fit the tray.
What a Foton needs from its battery
Most Chinese cars sold here take DIN batteries, usually H5 or H6, with H7 on the larger SUVs. Turbo models with stop/start generally need EFB or AGM. Sizes change between model years, so the technician checks the label or the VIN first.
Always-on dashcams, telematics units and aftermarket accessories are a common cause of overnight drain on these cars. If a new battery goes flat within weeks, the car needs a drain test, not another battery.

What battery does the Foton V use?
For the V we normally fit a EFB battery. Capacity and size vary with engine and year, so we check the label on the old battery or the VIN before bringing the replacement.
How long does a V battery last in the UAE?
In UAE heat a car battery typically lasts two to three years. Covered parking and a longer drive each week help it reach the upper end of that range.
Can you replace my V battery in a basement car park?

Does the V need the battery registered after replacement?
