What a DS needs from its battery
DS models were designed for cooler roads than ours. In the UAE the battery sits in a hot engine bay for most of the year, so two to three years is a normal lifespan.
Battery type and size
European cars use DIN batteries with recessed terminals, most often H5 or H6, with H7 on larger engines. Stop/start versions usually need EFB or AGM. Older cars without stop/start run a standard flooded battery.
Worth knowing before fitting
The battery height matters on these cars because the hold-down clamp grips a lip at the base. Some older models also ask for a radio code after the battery has been disconnected, so it helps to have it to hand.
