Choosing a battery for the Chery Transcom
The Transcom ran from 2010 to 2019. Later cars in that range often have start-stop and need EFB, while earlier ones use a standard battery, so the model year decides what we bring.
As an SUV it carries a larger battery than a small hatchback, and the AC and rear climate work hard in UAE traffic. We bring the full-capacity unit, not a smaller one that happens to fit the tray.
What a Chery needs from its battery
Most Chery models take a DIN battery, usually H5 on the Arrizo and Tiggo 4 and H6 on the Tiggo 7 and 8. Versions with stop/start generally need EFB or AGM. Specifications change with each facelift, so the label is checked.
A common complaint is a battery that drains after the car has been parked for a few days. Before blaming the battery, the technician tests it and measures the standing current, because a module that stays awake will flatten a new one just the same.

What battery does the Chery Transcom use?
For the Transcom we normally fit a EFB battery. Capacity and size vary with engine and year, so we check the label on the old battery or the VIN before bringing the replacement.
How long does a Transcom battery last in the UAE?
In UAE heat a car battery typically lasts two to three years. Covered parking and a longer drive each week help it reach the upper end of that range.
Can you replace my Transcom battery in a basement car park?
Yes. Our service vehicles fit standard basement height limits. Share the level and bay number and let security know a technician is coming.
Does the Transcom need the battery registered after replacement?
This model does not normally need battery registration. The technician carries a diagnostic tool and checks for stored battery faults either way.
