Choosing a battery for the Audi S1
The S1 ran from 2011 to 2018. Later cars in that range often have start-stop and need AGM, while earlier ones use a standard battery, so the model year decides what we bring.
Compact cars use smaller batteries with less reserve, so short trips with the AC running drain them faster. The good news is that replacement is quick and the batteries are easy to stock.
What a Audi needs from its battery
Most Audis from the last decade have stop/start and take an AGM battery, usually H7 or H8, with H6 on the smaller A3 and Q3. A few entry models use EFB. Capacity varies with engine and options, so the technician reads the label or the VIN first.
Audi energy management expects the new battery to be coded to the car with a diagnostic tool, so the charging strategy starts fresh. On several larger models the battery is in the boot under the floor, not under the bonnet.
Send a photo of the label on your current battery, or the registration card, and we will confirm the exact specification before the technician leaves.

Audi S1 battery questions
What battery does the Audi S1 use?
For the S1 we normally fit a AGM battery. Capacity and size vary with engine and year, so we check the label on the old battery or the VIN before bringing the replacement.
How long does a S1 battery last in the UAE?
In UAE heat a car battery typically lasts two to three years. Covered parking and a longer drive each week help it reach the upper end of that range.
Can you replace my S1 battery in a basement car park?
Yes. Our service vehicles fit standard basement height limits. Share the level and bay number and let security know a technician is coming.
Does the S1 need the battery registered after replacement?
On most Audi models of this age the battery management system should be told a new battery is fitted, and we do that on site. The technician carries a diagnostic tool and checks for stored battery faults either way.
Battery trouble right now?
Send your location and car model. A technician is usually with you in 20 to 35 minutes.
No call-out surprises. You get the quote before we move.
